Meeting – November 18th

All FVCC Students for Choice members and interested parties please meet us on Tuesday, November 18th, at 11:30 a.m. in LRC135.  It’s very important that you all attend this meeting – we have some business to get out of the way so that our group can be recognized by the college and continue with this very important cause in the years to come.

We will also have pro-choice information, buttons, stickers, and free condoms for everyone. If you can’t make it, please contact me ASAP.  See you all there!

NARAL Pro-Choice America has launched a new site: Free. Will. Power., a site that’s quite a bit more approachable than NARAL’s main site: it’s designed for a younger audience and filled with interesting information regarding each state and its approach to women’s reproductive rights.  Check it out – or enter their t-shirt design contest and win $1,000!

Meeting – October 31st

Our first meeting will be held on Friday, October 31st at 1:00 p.m. in LRC135.  We will be electing officers and getting this great group off the ground – we have some very important paperwork to cover regarding our recognition from the College, and we need you all to be there.  If you want to come but can’t make it due to scheduling, please send me an e-mail so I can still add you to the members list.  It will be a good opportunity for us to get acquainted, and for you to meet with our wonderful advisors, Christy and Galen.  We have big plans for this year, but we need your help!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  I hope to see you all at the meeting tomorrow!

Success!

We had our first table today in Blake Hall, and it was a wild success! We were able to gain 10 new members, and have gained an amazing amount of visibility within the campus community.

Special thanks to Sarah, Roger, Kelci, Kelly and Mervin for all their help. Don’t forget to join us at the meeting tomorrow!

Do you want this man to tell you what to do with your body?

Since apparently I can’t post this picture on the campus bulletin boards, I put it here for your viewing pleasure.

Please visit the Students for Choice table in Blake Hall on Thursday, October 30th, from 11:00 – 3:00 to learn which candidates support your right to choose. (Hint: not this guy.)

We are Students for Choice!

NARAL Pro-Choice Montana‘s mission is to develop and sustain a constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion.

Our vision for our community – a community in which every pregnancy is wanted, every child welcomed, every woman respected – is as strong as our determination to build it from the grassroots up.

With the support of organizers from NARAL Pro-Choice Montana, students and faculty at FVCC have created a new affiliate organization: FVCC Students for Choice. Membership in the Students for Choice empowers students to make informed reproductive and sexual health decisions and to participate in the process that shapes our reproductive choices, rights, and freedoms. Members organize on campus to protect reproductive rights, advocate for comprehensive sex ed and affordable birth control, to raise awareness and increase access to the morning-after pill, and to provide their peers with information on safe sex and sexually transmitted diseases. They are also an integral part of our efforts to get out the pro-choice vote and to educate voters on pro-choice issues and candidates.

Ready to get involved? Please contact us and sign up today!

Vote Pro-Choice Campus Day of Action

Thursday, October 30th will be our first Pro-Choice Campus Day of Action! Look for our table in Blake hall from 11:00 – 3:00 where Students for Choice volunteers will be handing out information about our organization as well as pamphlets regarding pro-choice legislation and local and national pro-choice candidates. Come talk to us about the importance of the right to privacy in personal medical decisions and how it affects all of our lives. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering!
